A whimsical owl ring made in the Victorian manner. Two dazzling pink ruby eyes gleam out of this wise bird’s sparking rose-cut diamond encrusted face, modelled with delightful detail in silver. The gleaming gold band with elegant scrolling shoulders further adds to the beauty of this piece.

 

The owl has long been known to be a wise and prophetic bird, highly regarded for its beauty and wisdom since Roman and Greek times. It has been known as an emblem for Athena; the goddess of knowledge. The Victorians had great interest in ornithology, and owl designs rose in popularity in the 1800s. The sense of magic surrounding these nocturnal birds has made them a symbol of great intrigue, and worn as a talisman for guidance and inner tranquillity.
